Day in the Life
Videotaping and Editing
In creating your Day in the Life video, we are sensitive to your client’s situation and know how to capture the best audio and video with as little intrusion as possible. We will work with you to edit the video into a seamless presentation that accurately portrays your client to the jury.
The events are not altered or staged in any way. The courts will only allow factual video to be shown to the jury. Thus, no creative transitions, captions, music, graphics, or special effects are used. However, professional video shooting and editing techniques by our Video & Media Services Department will result in a powerful presentation for your case.
What to Expect
Realtime’s Video & Media Services Department are professionals who understand what you are hoping to accomplish. We will meet with you and/or caregivers to identify the activities, locations, and time frame. We will then work with the plaintiff’s family, healthcare providers, and therapists to arrange for videotaping at all appropriate locations to capture the diminution in activities, extent of care, and daily routine on a current and potential future basis.
Attorney approval is obtained at every step of the way. The videotaping can take anywhere from a few hours up to 10 or more hours, depending on the number of locations and activities. After the videotaping is completed, our producer will consult with you and then condense the captured footage into the final product (generally thirty minutes or less). All original video, including outtakes, will be preserved and archived. You will review the edited video and provide input as to additional edits. Any necessary changes are then made.
Opening and Closing Statements
Video clips from the Day-in-the-Life Video may be used in your opening or closing statement to the jury. Contrasting pre-existing video and/or still photos (depicting the plaintiff in a healthy, pre-injured state) with Day-in-the-Life video clips in your closing statement leaves a lasting impression with the jurors.
Getting Started
As in most everything, the sooner you get us involved the better. We will gladly meet with you free of charge for an initial meeting to discuss your needs, our production process, the price, and our experience.
If you would like to set up an appointment with our team, email [email protected] or call 304-344-8463.
